This is a relaxing easy way to see the river and hear from a guide. I didn't think it was a particularly informative tour, but it was still fun to do on a nice day.

The boat goes about 1 mile down the river, so you don't see that much more than just walking along the river. The guides provide information about some of the buildings along the river. It was interesting to hear that the river used to be much more commercial business, and is now mostly lined with homes and restaurants.

This tour was around 8 pounds per person. So it wasn't particularly expensive. They are cash only.

Yorkboat cruises on Lendal Bridge, have several boats that run on regular intervals up and down the river Ouse.
They do a great, 1 hour cruise along to the official residence of the Archbishop of york, the Palace.
It is great for an hour in the afternoon when you have nothing else to do or as part of your tour of York, there is so much to see along the river as you go and so much to take in within the hour period on the river.
They serve snacks on board and also have a licenced bar, so it is a great hour sitting topdeck in the sunshine, enjoying a beer with some friends cruising along at a leisurely pace.
The company also does private bookings for groups and special occassions, you can book for lunchtime cruises and also Evening, restaurant Cruises, which on a nice summers evening can be quite romantic, as the boats are lit up while you go up and down the river in the dark, it shows the City in a different light cruising this way, seeing the city lit up at night from the river is stunning.
It is so reasonably priced for what you get on the tour, highly reccomended.

What a relaxing way to see some of York or travel in to City.

We got on the boat at Acaster Malbis and got on the boat to travel in to York one day to have a car free day and left the car at the campsite. It took around an 1hr to float in to York. But it was very relaxing. There were drinks on board for you to buy. The staff were lovely and polite.

I'd definately do this again as driving everywhere when you're having a break gets a bit tiring. A lovely leisurely relaxing way to get in to york, or to go on one of their cruises from the centre.

Have recommended to a friend who loved it too.

A great way to experience the city of York. The knowledgable crew on board will enteratin and educate you as you relax on board one of York boats cruisers whilst sailing up and down the famous river Ouse through the very heart of York.

Sailings from 2 points in the city centre near to the main bridges at regular intervals.

They even have a fleet of smaller boats you can rent for self drive!

I loved my boat trip in York, best saved for a warm sunny summers day which I picked. Get yourself a spot on the top deck, grab yourself a beer and sit back and relax and simply enjoy I certainly did. Its a wonderful way to chill out and relax. The views of York are stunning. I can't imagine it been quite as much fun and a grey rainny day but perfect in summer.

£8 for a supposed 50 min trip. 30 mins we were actually on. Best thing about it was the skipper commentary and the bar!

I love the boats on a summer day, very relaxing. If the weather turns nasty you can always escape to the lower deck and buy a cup of tea (beer and spirits also available).
I've been on a evening cruise too and that was really atmospheric.
They do a combined ticket with the open top tour bus too which you can use in a 24 hour period.

A great way of seeing the city of York. The standard cruise is an hour long and takes you a decent way along the river. The boat can also be privatly hired for special occasions and looks brilliant lit up at night. There are also some smaller boats avaible for hire which you can take out yourself for varying lengths of time.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! I love the riverbus, as you can chill on top deck and watch the beautiful city of York fly by or purchase snacks and drinks downstairs. I recommend this to anyone visiting York because of the excellent prices and beautiful scenery when/if travelling down the Ouse.
