The views alone would get this place a good rating, even without the friendly staff and good selection of local ales!

We stopped here for a rest during our jolly around the Langdales and it was the perfect place to stop and enjoy a nice drink in the sun.

Food going out looked great and my girlfriend has been here before and said it's great. The ales on tap are varied and all from local breweries which is another plus point. My favourite bit though is the dog section - they have a dog menu! You can order things like doggy beer which comes with 2 sausages - so bring your K-9 pals with you!

We got lucky with some fantastic weather which meant the outside Ice-Cream stand opened up and that looked great as well!

All in all a lovely spot!

I ordered a meal of Cumberland sausage and in season green vegetables. The sausage was good, but the vegetables were almost non-existent consisting of four green peas and some lettuce. I am still not sure whether the lettuce was meant to be decorative or to be eaten. No dressing came with the lettuce.

In short, I paid too much for this mean that came with no substantial vegetables.

The service was very friendly and good.

One of my all time favourite spots in the world.

I have been coming to Stickle Barn for years, it is perfect for big families/couples/dogs and all you need after a long walk in the Langdales. The food is typical British pub food, but better than most pub food I've ever tasted and there is a great selection of drinks, even distilling their own gin! Make sure to bring the doggies also as they have their own food menu!

What really sets this place apart from the rest is the large outside seating area with the stunning views of the beautiful Langdale valley! A place you must visit in your lifetime and one I can't wait to go back to!

Great choice of Ales, good food.
Classic pub mains as well as creative "Lamb and mint" burger.
      Nice pubs and friendly staff.
It's a good choice to relax after a nice hike in the Lake District.

Stopped for a quick beer on a sunny Wednesday afternoon in March. Had a pint of very pleasant Keswick bitter sat outside in the sunshine. There were four or five beers on when we visited so not too bad a choice really. Only had a quick glance around inside whilst ordering at the bar and it seemed OK, nothing fancy as the name suggests. My parents wanted a cup of tea each and it came as a mug with a teabag in and we were told to help ourselves to sugar and milk etc. cafe style which was a bit of a disappointment. I'd have preferred cups and a teapot really to make it feel more like we were having a treat on a day out :-) They were serving food and the limited menu looked fairly typical; fish & chips, steak pie, sandwiches, soup and so on. Main courses averaged about £12 and the kids menu, which seemed to be mini versions of the adult meals, were all £7.50. All in all it was OK, but not a memorable Lake District pub by any means.

      In the beer garden.
