this place used to be really good, but my wife and I went there recently and the food was crap.
To sit in, its a lovely place, and the food aint too bad. But, for takeaway, give it a miss.
we got panzanelle with dip. The dip was tomato ketchup!!
seriously.very dodgyHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (sandra…)Dumfries, United Kingdom61523 Jul 2009
I absolutely love this place. The service is friendly and quick, the food has never disapppointed and it is brilliant value for money. There is quite a few italien restaurants in Dumfries, but for me the pizzeria beats them all hands down. As for the Staffi can't praise them enough, even when busy they still take pride in the job and always offer service with a smile, a rarety these days.

Bad service! Very unfriendly!!! Only one: Badly!! On my last visit(two days ago) - the spaghetti which looged quite tasty on a colour offer was not good at all! In the plate there was nothing at all. When we have complained from this spaghetti, someone like supervisor came and has admitted that food from the plastic bag comes. Nevertheless, he has discussed for hours with us that what stands on the menue to the spaghetti, everything was mashed in the Sausse. What nonsense!!! He did not apologiesed us at all, neither in the price, nor with other food.Disgusting man!We do not pass any more. Exactly in Dumfries there is another italiean restaurant which is much better!

Currently the best restaurant in Dumfries by miles. Friendly staff, attentive service and comfortable surroundings.
While the menu shows little imagination and only offers
the usual basic fayre, it is good quality and not expensive.
I would highly recommend a visit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (Bryan…)Glasgow, United Kingdom013 Dec 2008
I have been eating at the Pizzeria Il Fiume for the past 20 years, and it has always been known for its service and the quality of the food.I have come across a comment about the Pizzeria which i find very upsetting, because it wasnt a criticism about the food or the service,it was a racist comment about the staff, which for one isnt even the truth,in fact the restaurant isnt owned by Polish people,it is owned by a couple Mr and Mrs Cvetkovic from Serbia and Scotland, who happen to be a great credit to the pizzeria, since they took over 6 years ago,i have found myself going at least once a week,as they make you feel very welcome, and the food is delicious.

I recently ate at this establishment and have to say I found the food disappointing. I had garlic mushrooms to start followed by spaghetti Bolognaise. The mushrooms appeared to be floating in what could only be described as a greasy oil and looked and tasted unappealing. The spaghetti bolognaise was awful. The spaghetti was drowning in sauce (I'm still trying to fathom out where the mince was!!) and was very 'stodgy'. It was not a great dining experience. My partner also started with the mushrooms and was of the same opinion. That was followed by a cheese and tomato pizza which was nothing more than a fancy cheese on toast. The overall atmosphere was okay. The seating was not very spacious - I would not have liked to have been a larger person!! The staff were pleasant enough with us however with people they appeared to know they seemed very overbearing especially one man (possibly the owner?). I would not rush back or recommend it. There are plenty of other places which serve far superior food.
