ONLY IN PARIS ! My wife and I arrived at our 3rd floor apartment in Rue Daguerre, Paris around 1.30pm on Monday, Oct 2nd. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL STREET ! After a short stroll to a nearby supermarket to buy some craft beer we walked our street which was loaded with restaurants, cafes, bakeries, chocolate shops and much more. At around 3.30pm we decided to have our first taste of Paris right here...virtually under our apartment. A couple of Cortados, an Opera Cake and an Almond Cookie was all we needed. We sat on their tiny outdoor patio to enjoy our treats. Our cortados in half filled mugs were okay...nothing special. My wife enjoyed her yummy opera cake and I thought my almond cookie tasted good. Some old guy lit up a cigarette at the next table....welcome to Paris. Service was a bit so so !

NOTE - Of course with over 22 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics world wide in 2022 I can tell you what is great !

This is a quaint pastry and bread store with 4 seats inside and 6 seats outside. We came here for breakfast twice since it's close to our hotel and their crossaint were decent. Most people appear to come in to buy bread or cakes or other items.

It's one of the few places that have seatings inside so we will likely go back before our trip ends.

People who work here are nice and tries to be patient with us tourists. Merci.

      Crossiant and Cafe Machinato.

We were walking thru the area and I was craving a sweet treat. We spotted this boulangerie which was pretty crowded and decided to try it. We each got something and both of us loved it. It was reasonably priced and the taste was excellent. Everything they had looked so good. I'm definitely coming back!

Small place with just a few tables, but lots of fresh bread, pastries, sandwiches, salads, etc.  My hotel was around the corner, and we had breakfast there most mornings.  Excellent coffee and croissants/pastries!  It was a little difficult at first since I don't speak French and they don't speak English.  However, the owner speaks English and was very helpful and accommodating.  I highly recommend this place!

I had the best pastry of my life here. Coincidentally, I later had the 2nd and 3rd best pastries of my life here.

The pastry with nut cream and hazelnuts was incredible! The Mango pastry was a close second. I was in France for several days and tried pastries almost every day. This one wins hands down. In second place is the pastry shop in Versailles.

Nothing is bad, but at the same time, neither the breads nor the pastries are exceptional, so an "A-OK" describes Thevenin pretty accurately in my view.

Baguette tradition was very good, with a nice flavorful crust and a nice airy interior (definitely ask for one bien cuite). On the other hand I was not a fan of the baguette aux cereales - the disappointing crust lacked that same crunch and the inside was too dense, too pasty, and in the end I didn't even want to finish it. As for pâtisseries, I tried:

"Granny" (4.20€): apple streusel base, a ball of green apple-flavored crème, apple macaron on top. Brilliant design and presentation, but the flavors weren't terrific. I think the best part was the chewy, slightly tart macaron. The crème (don't know the proper word for it, not traditional pastry crème but a gelatin-based one) was somewhat flavorless. The streusel base was tasty but a bit too hard to the extent I couldn't cut through it with a spoon. Overall more a novelty than anything else.

"Nuance" (4.00€): mixed berry mousse with a crumbly chocolate biscuit center. Again, beautiful presentation. The mousse was on point, not too thin nor too gelatinous, not too sweet, plenty of tart berry flavors, and the chocolate biscuit added some nice textural contrast. Not the most inventive or exciting, but tasty, refreshing, and light.

Paris-Brest (3.50€): instead of sandwiching the praliné between a ring-shaped pâte à choux, Thevenin pipes it into a classic cream puff. The pâte praliné was tasty with a decent amount of hazelnut flavor, but a bit too thick/rich and quite a bit too sweet, the chou was excellent.

Religieuse Mandarine (3.60€): pretty unmemorable, the presentation wasn't nearly as beautiful as the three pastries above, and the choux pastry was slightly soggy. The orange cream was fine, also a bit sweet, and could have used more orange flavor to balance out the sweetness.

Unlike some of the French reviewers stated, I had no problems with rude service. Decent neighborhood bakery, but choose carefully.

Best pastries I've ever had. Highly highly recommend the hazel nut cream tart and the Le Nuance (red thing with chocolate and raspberry mousse). So delicious and worth the price

While walking by this shop, one cannot ignore the love that emanates from those windows. Literally, many of the delicious cakes and tartes are heart shaped and are a beautiful shade of red ;). But the things in this patisserie are without a doubt made with lots of love. I had the best macarons of my life (fruits rouge, chocolate, and vanille) from them as well as a coconut tarte and chocolate eclaire.
I Would go back every day if they weren't on the other side of the ocean.

Open until 8 most evenings, friendly staff, very tasty baguette tradition. Patisseries, particularly la tarte aux myrtilles, are delicious!
