There is essentially no point in paying to enter the stadium because you are just paying to walk around it, but you can see it all from the outside. I thought there might be some areas of the stadium to explore or some exhibits, but there was nothing. You can pay a bunch of money to zip line or climb on the roof, which does not seem that appealing. I wish I had not paid to enter the stadium.

Worth your time to see these amazing Olympic structures. You can go inside the stadium where the ceremonies and games were held for 3.50. So worth it. See the torch, too.

The Olympic Stadium is part of the Munich landscape and located in Olympic Park. It was the main stadium for the Olympic Games and since then, served as a stadium for many sporting and music events.
The architecture of this stadium is interesting and, the tent style roof made of glass is quite interesting to look at. At times it looks really grungy but on warm sunny days it looks amazing.
Many big concerts are held here now and also a number of sporting events throughout the year. I have been to a couple of concerts here in the past.
There are some hills around this stadium which are worth ascending. Made from WW II rubble during the rebuilding of Munich, they provide amazing vista of the city and the alps beyond, on nice clear days. You can also see the famous Munich landmarks from these hills.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in Munich. The area surrounding the stadium is beautiful and of course BMW Welt is also close by.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 95713647277 Aug 2010
I have been a fan of Bayern Munich since I was a kid watching German soccer back in Colombia on Sunday mornings, also the Olympic games left a pretty big mark in my life since they were probably the first games in which I was truly interested in international competition.
This Stadium, more than a landmark is an experience, if you are lucky enough to be in Munchen during one of their home games, definitely come by and take in the experience of German Soccer, it is nothing less than spectacular, and the passion will totally engulf you and drive you to enjoy some good beer and sausages ...post game.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Christi W.Gothenburg, Sweden14017130023 May 2016
This is a good large venue for concerts. So large you feel so far away from the show. There are not enough restrooms as the lines are so long during intermissions. Good selection of food, drinks. Best to use U-Bahn to get there. In & Out of stadium are managed well.

Some stunning architecture but not an ideal venue for football. The roof, whilst of a spectacular design, is somewhat impractical given that it only covers about half the stadium. Not a problem for summer sports but ill suited to a football game during winter.
Bayern fans must be delighted with their new purpose built arena!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
