The place has only got one room. It must have been built in the 1930s, so along with a very good selection of movies, you get to enjoy the historical flavor of the building. And yet, the service is lacking in speed and politeness. The crowd can be a little pushy. The popcorn is rather stale and the quality of the picture is just fine. Acoustics are also just so-so... Since there's only one room you don't have a lot of choice each week. Also their opening hours are quite restricted. Compared to a cinema in Paris, this is in the lower third. Compared to Berlin its in the upper third. And if you want movies in their original language, aside from Cinestar, it might be one of very few choices you have in Berlin.

If you are in schöneberg and fancy seeing a film in English then check this place out.
It is the complete opposite to the cinema complex in the Sony Center. Although small, it manages to retain a certain element of charm and is well loved by the locals. More oldie worldy.
The seating is well spaced and comfortable. It has a good range of drinks and light snacks which are reasonably priced.
It only has one screen so it is advisable to call ahead to find out what is screening.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Shaunessy A.Downers Grove, United States27397 Jul 2017

Original version cinema in Berlin. It's not a huge commercial thing like the Sony Center. They show nice films in original version. This review was written in 2010.
As they've got the monopoly on original version films in Berlin... Prices keep going up and there's always some reason to charge extra (either the film is longer or...)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 022 Dec 2009Previous reviewOriginal version cinema in Berlin. A small, cute, cozy theater! But because it is small, sometimes the place gets pretty packed. If you really want good seats for a popular movie, I would suggest going a bit early to snag them. Because this theater is so small, they only have one auditorium. The theater itself usually shows either one or two movies at a time, so check what they're playing before you head over.

A charming, teeny-tiny (i.e., one-room) theater with a great selection of current original-version (i.e., mostly English, some French) films, as well as German films with English subtitles. Tickets are 10 EUR at most -- cheaper on weekdays, I believe. Last showing I went to, there were maybe 10 people total. Conveniently near a lot of food places.
