Needed to get away from the office in the Frankfurt suburbs, and the locals suggested this place for some hearty local German fare. This place is in a residential neighborhood with a kinder school next door which added to the ambiance.

They were great with dealing with a non-native speaker, they had a version of their menu in four languages. It was mostly your typical German beer garden fare, schnitzel, etc.

I aimed to get the slowly brazed pork cheeks, with what I thought was coming with boiled potatoes and schnitzel with the famous green Frankfurt sauce. (it was under the heading of "Frankfurt style schnitzel" in both the German and multi-language menu). It instead came with the pork cheeks paired with egg pasta and a side salad (perhaps a lunch version) However since I really only wanted to try the green sauce, they put some in a sauce container and I could apply as I wished to the falling apart (a good thing) pork cheeks.

Overall the food was great, there was a mixup with the order, but they made it right in the end. Definitely a favorite for the locals, and is cash only.

This is a nice local restaurant located very close to our office that serves excellent German food and quite a variety of different dishes. Their food menu is quite extensive and you have a choice of different meat dishes, salads, vegetarian and local dishes. They have a fair bit of outdoor seating and the place was full when we arrived for lunch. They have a daily special and today was Schnitzeltag (Mondays).

I had the Grune Sauße which is a local specialty in the Frankfurt area and mine came with boiled potatoes and pork shoulder that has been boiled and baked (at least I think it is). The whole dish was flavourful, herby and fragrant. It tasted divine and I finished every morsel on the plate :-))

Service here is friendly and helpful and they accommodated us even though they were busy and got us on our way quick.

I would happily come here anyday for a meal and try most things on the menu :-) my colleagues loved their meals and come here often. Prices are very reasonable as well.

Grune Sauße mit Salzkartoffle und Schwinegebäckchen :-)))
