Le Saint Antoine

This restaurant offers excellent food in elegant surroundings, and best of all, at extremely reasonable prices. Service is generally very good (although there are occasional slower moments). I've visited several times and been impressed on each occasion.


My latest visit was for a family birthday, and the evening was lovely. Our group of seven was seated on a large square table, meaning that we had plenty of space and could also talk easily to everyone else. Service was very good, and one of the highlights was a delicious chocolate cake with candles to celebrate the birthday! However all the other courses were excellent too, from the amazingly generous 'amuse' of home-smoked salmon and mackerel rillettes onwards. The food offers thoughtful takes on classic French dishes - I particularly enjoyed a salad of sweetbreads; another high point was the superb cheese tray.


In summary, I would recommend this restaurant for a special evening out, but I also mean to return for the lunch menu which offers even better value.
