the Cineworld is okay depending on what you're looking for.
The most annoying thing is when it's busy some people are very rude, they're talking between themselves on the phone, babies crying.
Didn't really have peace of mind watching a movie.
Screen is pretty small compare to the other Cineworld that I have been to.
But the location is great, parking is very cheap and there are plenty of great food places to eatHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rajendhiran V.Gravesend, United Kingdom0111 Nov 2018
We were watching a tamil movie SARKAR yesterday 10/11/2018 with our family in SCREEN 3 Cineworld. First half of the movie the sound was working only from the front view of the screen and little bit on the right side on & off.Nothing from the left side( looks like 2.1 with no surround ...). The volume was too low, no surround and felt like watching 80's series.Screen brightness was too low compared to other leading cinema.
When spoke to the staff they said will inform the operator. But nothing has been changed. I thought it is only me but also few more complained like me. This doesn't happen during Holywood movies.
During the interval went to the Deputy manager, ILFORD. First of all he was rude and his reply was atleast you could hear the conversational sound and may be the movie's background music doesn't have good sound(FYI: the music for this movie has been done by the OSCAR winning music director A R RAHMAN). Finally a little bit of volume has been increased although the quality of output is like hearing from the old RADIO.
We all go the cinema for the visual experience and the 5.1 /7.1/ auro sound. Otherwise the same movie can be seen from any mobile or home devices .
This is not the first time the SURROUND SOUND IS OFF in cineworld. They always do for some reason for the past 10 years for the regional movies.
I hope that I am not the only disappointed customer.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eakan G.Worcester Park, London, United Kingdom3915530827 Jun 2015
All Indian regional language films are mostly released here. I have traveled from North London and South East London to this place to watch films in Malayalam.
Decent cinema. Nice location, right next to a paid parking lot. So nowadays, I park and then go for a movie, have dinner and then drive back.
Friendly staff too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nilesh C.Dublin, United States5911932418 Aug 2013
Movie theatres are little different to review. If we talk about the main purpose i.e. watching a movie, this Cineworld location performs good. Good collection of shows, decent seats, good sound system, clean environment. But when we talk about perks such as food, it receives a thumbs down. As reviewed before by other yelpers, food really doesnt look appealing.
If you dont look forward for food while watching a movie, just go ahead, you wont be disappointed.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Daniel J.Ilford, United Kingdom171462212 Dec 2008
This cinema is my local, and I frequent it often. I don't love it though.
I guess it comes down to what you expect from a cinema these days. I mean, I kind of want some place that was built in 1920s and still has popcorn stains from war-time. But it's a bit unfair of me to judge every modern cinema based on that. Take for example, the Cineworld in Ilford.
Each room is clean, the screens are clear and the prints tend to be very good. It's a good, solid cinema experience.. so why should I be negative?.
This particular Cineworld is probably the best cinema to go to if you're Asian or interested in Bollywood movies; as they often have more films from the East than Hollywood. In fact; the place is really buzzing when a new Bollywood film is released; they bring out the whole community!.
If you're more interested in British and American films like myself; then chances are you're only really going to get to see the biggest blockbuster releases; i.e. a new Johnny Depp film or Pirates Of The Carribean 9. But I'm not complaining - it serves its purpose, and is a fine if slightly soulless place to catch a movie. Kudos to Cineworld as a company though; for their Cineworld Unlimited passes; where you pay £11-16 a month for unlimited movies. A great deal.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kathryn T.London, United Kingdom0676218 Feb 2010
Pretty run-of-the-mill to be honest. The queues last night were out the door resulting in people coming in to the screening very late, presumably because they'd just had to queue forever to get their tickets (thank God I'd pre-booked; they have a couple of tickdet collection machines at the back of the foyer). Seriously better queue busting required for opening nights.
The layout is also pretty bad. The foyer is overshadowed by the underside of 2 massive escalators taking you to the screens/bar etc.
The screening room was ok and the chairs were comfortable. The toilets, however, were disgusting and reeked of very, very nasty things...
You wouldn't go to this cinema if you wanted all the razzle-dazzle you get at the more modern, luxurious cinemas but for a nip in/nip out screening, it'll do.
For a suburban-ish cinema I'd have hoped to pay less than £10.50.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (phanto…)London, United Kingdom16107124 Oct 2008
I don't like this cinema much, although the building is fine, the screens are a fair size, the seats comfy, and usually there is plenty of room.
What I don't like is their strict policy of only having food and drink bought from their kiosks because if you come in with shopping bags, they insist on looking in them for contraband popcorn and illicit water bottles, Could be embarrassing!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nimz P.Wembley, United Kingdom832552931 Dec 2015
This cinema is ok, it serves its purpose. It's not my favourite cinema and it is in need of a major refurbishment. It is a straightforward Cineworld with nothing special about it. There are about 4 or 5 screens, its located right next to a car park which is great when your watching a late show. I would avoid this Cineworld as its just not a good cinema.

This cinema is my local and easiest to get to but it's certainly not my favourite! Tickets aren't overly pricey, ticket prices change throughout different times of day. The food deals are bad price wise but if I were you I would stick to just popcorn and bags of sweets You are not allowed to take your own food and drink in with you!
The cinema isn't very clean/tidy - it's not awful but other cinema's manage to keep theirs clean
There are lots of screens and they always show they latest films. A lot of these are bollywood films which serves the area well and seem to be very popular!
I only really go here if I decide to see a film last minute as it's convenient, I prefer to go elsewhere!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (mdanie…)London, United Kingdom24724 Nov 2008
This is the worst cinema I've ever visited in the UK. There are plenty of screens although the majority show Asian movies - not a criticism though, as the area is highly multicultural.
Considering my comment, surprisingly the quality of the screenings is good - I've never had a problem with sound or picture quality. The problems lie elsewhere.
Firstly, the cinema is quite dirty and could do with more cleaners. The staff are the most unfriendly I've ever come across in any cinema and treat customers with real contempt - the last time I was there the girl in the ticket booth practically threw my ticket and card back to me. She didn't say a word to me throughout the whole transaction and looked at me like I was scum.
Once upstairs where the screens are, you can see how busy and loud it is. This doesn't change when you get in to the screens. On the way in the staff insist on seaching all your bags for food that you may have bought elsewhere and their policy seemingly also extends to grocery shopping. I'd gone to Sainsbury's before visiting the cinema once and had 2 bags of what were obviously groceries - however, I was made to leave my bags outside while I went in and watched the movie.
The behaviour of other customers is what really bothers me though. They don't seem to realise that a cinema is for watching films and they chatter constantly throughout. There is never a moment when there isn't a general buzz of chatter. I've seen people jumping on seats during screenings, running around the auditorium, shouting and swearing during the movie, and not only answer the phone during the film but actually make a phone call and sit there and talk while the film is on.
The general level of service offered by this cinema as well as the behaviour of the customers and the unwillingness of staff to stop it is completely unacceptable to anyone who actually wants to sit down and watch a film. Avoid at all costs.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
