Blue Tit believe that a haircut should be an experience, not just a transaction. At our independent, boutique salon on Stoke Newington Road and now Lower Clpaton Road too, you'll find exposed brickwork, gorgeous original features, vintage leather armchairs and an intimate team of passionate professionals. We like to keep it raw and luxurious, so we use natural products like Davines, that are kind to hair and kind to the environment. Come and take a peek at our little Dalston or Clapton nest and enjoy a fresh fruit smoothie at the sweeping wooden bar, which curves underneath 700 gossamer-hung light bulbs, or curl up with a magazine and a laptop on the covered garden terrace. Oh, and you could even get your hair done, our award-winning stylists mean we're pretty good at that too.…

I've been very careful throughout lockdown and decided if I were to take advantage of hairdressers being open that I'd need to feel 100% trusting of their post lockdown procedures. I was impressed with the step by step guide mapped out on the Blue Tit website and booked an appointment. Chelsey from the Clapton location was professional, kind, and gave me a perfect haircut, I'm so so so pleased with the result. Thank you!

Went here to go from ginger to blonde - initially I wasn't booked in for the correct amount of time needed to do this after having spoken to the receptionist and having emailed prior to making my appointment, HOWEVER!

Harriet and her assistant, Rumor (sorry if I spelt that wrong) were brilliant. They made the time to give me as much one on one as they could, and even though I was there for a total of 5 hours, the time flew. Both ladies are really welcoming and sweet, not to meant ion very chatty and funny. It was more like having your hair done at your mates house than going to a salon.

The salon itself is really cool - has a well loved, slightly worn look to it which fits in perfectly with the Hackney areas vibe. They have great tea and coffee, and beer and wine for those of you (me) who like a little drink while you wait for your hair to be done.

I left super happy with my colour - grey blonde with baby blue roots - and keep getting tons of compliments on it! Definitely get yourself down here if you're looking for a cool kid make over.

      I went here
      a) Because my friend reccomended it
      b) Because its practically opposite my house
      c) Because it looks great.
I'm trying to grow my har and I'm therefore terrified of the hairdressers as everytime I go they hack off way too much in one go.
I thought I'd give ths pricey place a go though as I thought they'd do a good job.
When I first arrived they had me down as Lauren which was annoying then offered me a drink which never arrived. They then made me wait even though I was on time.
The stylist had a lot of experience and did my hair well, bt it was so bare in there that I felt overexposed and the hair washer guy acted like he couldnt be bothered with anything and was a bit sarcastic.
They hav etheir own philosophy on hair whch is basically not to use any styling products in the hair, ever, only heat protection spray before blow-drying, which is bizzarre if you need a bit of volume or oomph in your hair. Toni & Guy don't go by this mantra.
He did a tiny trim and didnt charge me for a full cut. But at £34 just for a wash and a blow dry it still wasnt cheap. The blow dry wasn't good either. My hair was flat and limp I do it better myself.
I also asked for colour advice after, as my new highlights (another hairdresser did) arent perfect, and he told me it looked like I had a yellow blob of mustard on my head.Nice!
      I wouldn't go back.Was this review ? (http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/blue-tit-london#)

Been going here for a long time and it never fails to disappoint. Great staff, lovely vibe and great drinks. Plus I always want to steal the music playlist.

After one really good haircut (with Matt G) here when the salon first opened I booked in for a second cut and it's quite probably my last.
My appointment with Simone (a gent, in case you like me are a little surprised by this!) was booked for 1pm. But after having my hair washed and being seated next to where Simone was finishing another customer's haircut, it was nearly 2pm and my hair mostly dry before he stopped flirting outrageously with her and started my appointment. He apologised cursorily for being an hour late to start but quickly justified it by saying he likes to make sure that everyone has the best possible cut. But having said this, obviously conscious of running behind for the rest of the afternoon, he gave me the fastest, and shoddiest, haircut I've ever had in my life. When my boyfriend, who was strolling past, stopped in to say hello for less than a minute, Simone rudely told him we had to get on with my cut after keeping me waiting for more than an hour.
He cut off 3 inches of hair despite agreeing on one, and gave me a fringe so wonky it looked like it had been cut with toenail clippers.
I just wish I hadn't been so desperate to get out of there that I left without making a proper complaint. For very nearly £60 I'm still so annoyed about how I was treated, and the truly awful cut I left with. I know they're young and doing things differently but Simone's service was just beyond awful.

I took my daughter here for a hair cut and she absolutely loved it. Fantastic service, great atmosphere. I aid more than I usually do, but she did have a wash, cut and blow dry. The staff made her feel really special and I couldn't begrudge the extra, it was definitely worth it.
